About the Work…
“Shield of Courage” - Written for my students, these short concert pieces untilize only the first five notes of the D major scale (D,E,F#,G,A) for String Orchestra and the Bb Major scale (Bb,C,D,Eb,F) for Band. Each piece focuses on one fundamental rhythm at a time, all within the framework of a brief concert work.
